2007 Expo Wrap-Up

We came early and watched the show until 4:00pm when we had to leave. Very cool! There were some outstanding battles and inovative bots! Once the audio/video issues were resolved it was smooth sailing! Anouncers were fun. It was nice to interact with competitors and view the various displays. Met some very nice folks today. At home tried to watch the end of the show, but it was very clunky. I saw more of a still show and no active video, not sure if the problem was at my end or not? I would recomend this event to all and plan to attend next year. The tee shirt tossing competitor was an added bonus!

I would have liked to see the scorers table and the computer guy. He is kinda cute....

Great show. I took my two boys; ages 12 and 10 and they loved it! This is how you grow engineering/science interest in the US. Keep it up, we'll be back every year.

The vendor booths were an added bonus. We had a great time talking to the students, participating in the various activities for the kids and (my personal favorite) talking to the husband/wife combo that brought the "big" bots: 120 and 220 lb bots -- they had great stories. My boys really liked the Parallax display as well.

How to improve. I would get some huge butcher paper and post the brackets on the wall so spectators could follow their favorite bots throughout the tournament. Set it up like a basketball tourney -- people like that. The AV ideas were great w/ the multiple screens but had some issues. Get the crowd more involved. The guy throwing t-shirts was unique and great as were the announcers. Find more ways to get the crowd into it; maybe select a couple kids from the audience to come out and battle each other.

All said, keep it up! That was a great afternoon and as I said earlier inspired the kids.

As a competitor - the venue is top notch.

The announcers added lots of excitement to the event.

It's a shame the A/V equipment had issues - it was always one of the strong points in past events but with sooooo much I give props to the crew to manage what they did.

I look forward to the vids when they come up.

what's wrong with the video?

I'm sorry for the delay, but we've got over 7 hours of footage to edit. The final cut should be about 45 minutes long. We're excited about the way its turning out, though!

Good to hear you are making progress on the video. It was a great event with some fierce competition. Unfortunately, it happened all too fast, so the videos remind me of the fun.

So, how's the video coming along? Keep up the good work! =)

Any timetable on the Video
I know the hours of footage take some time to make into individual fights (with multiple angles), but I need my fix. Just a taste...
