The Engineering Expo at Sacramento State University, California will be held from noon to 5pm on Sunday, February 22th, 2009. The event is FREE for all ages and parking will be provided. The headline event of the Engineering Expo is the “Smackdown in Sactown V”, a national tournament of battling robots for the Hornet Trophy. The “Smackdown in Sactown V” will feature competitions in the one pound weight class. Other attractions include displays and activities showcasing student projects, engineering organizations, and robotics technology in action.

The hovercraft was displayed at the expo, but the real adventure was the day before when we got the hovercraft running and moved it to the Union. All the photos were taken by Benjamin Shell. Today is the day -- February 18th! The Engineering Expo starts in just a few hours. Come on out if you can (it's free!), but if that's not possible you can watch our live video stream. In any case, you won't want to miss over 30 Ant Weight robotics fighting in the 'Smackdown in Sactown' competition, plus lots of other displays and robotics demonstrations!
